Wednesday, March 18, 2009

Dear Lesa,

I suck.

But I am contemplating a blog about curtains.

Sincerely,

OLD SUN.....or not!

Grab the book CLOSEST to you,. [No cheating!] Go to page 56 and and type the 5th sentence. And then the next 2-5 lines after that. Name the book. [Duh!] Tag your folks.

"So you'll come over when I'm home, though, right? "

So...do you know what book it is yet? No? Ok...here's a couple more...

I hated that I felt suddenly unsure about this.

"If you want me to."

"I always want you," I reminded him, with perhaps a little more intensity than the conversation required.

Still don't know?

OK...I"ll give you a hint first before telling you....

Its the opposite of an OLD SUN.

Come on......

NEW MOON by Stephanie Meyer which unless you have been under a rock you know is the second book of the Twilight Saga!

OK......NOW IT'S YOUR TURN! All one of you my readers!! GO LESA!!!

TAG...YOU'RE IT!!

Today's tag comes from Miss Lorrie Veasey and is brought to you by the letter:

The tag is to list ten things that you LOVE that begin with the assigned letter.

1. River - The Guadalupe River to be exact but I'm open to other Texas rivers where my wild a$$ family can gather (cousins, aunts, uncles, and other distant relatives) with our wild a$$ friends and reminisce while tubin' down the cold and winding river with drinks in hand. My boys have grown up going to "the river" every summer of their lives. It's our summer good time.

2. Red - What's not to love about red? It's bright without being obxnoxious, it's sassy without being girly and most home decorators will tell you that there should be a splash of it in every room in your house. Seriously and yes, no matter the color scheme! I gave up and just painted all the walls red and considered it done! Just kidding...only the kitchen....oh and the office!

3. Roses - Preferably the kind that come in a vase and were received for no reason in particular or for every reason under the sun. In other words....who cares - just send them!

4. Reading - Reading books is awesome. Duh! Do I really have to explain why? Good...I thought you would understand!

5. Relish trays - Ummmm...yeah I'm getting R letter desperate but hey relish trays are the easy way out at family potlucks...hee hee!!

6. Roast - Mmm Mmm good! Moist, tender roast with potatoes, carrots and gravy....it's heaven on a plate!

7. Ranches - I love everything about the thought of one day owning the one of my dreams. I love the western design mixed with old world design that would be through out the "ranch house", the horses in the pasture, the acres of land that would surround it, the really cool name it would have once I actually come up with the really cool name. It might even start with the letter "R".

8. Razors - they make my legs smooth, my underarms less tree-huggerish and in the hands of the right hair stylist they can make my hair awesomely face framing!

9. Rubber - NO NOT THAT KIND KIDDOS!! Get your mind out of the gutter. I meant burning rubber! Peeling out. Spinning some wheels! OK....not really - I'm referring to the black stuff they wrap around said spinnin wheels to aid me in smoothly getting from point A to point B. Though sometimes I drive a car that has very little rubber for some ghetto effect that I'm not happy with - but hey whatcha gonna do? But otherwise rubber is good and well....I'm obviously getting down to the wire on things that begin with R that I love. Rubber - honestly I like you but don't truly love you but don't tell anyone.

10. Riley's - I'm related to a whole mess of em and well...I'm quite fond of them. They are crazy, sometimes a bit redneck and always full of good stories and lotsa fun. They are the majority of the family mentioned above that we gather with at the River and responsible for most of the River Fun. So yes I love me some Riley's.

And that kiddos completes my blog today. Thank you and TGIF!!

The Real Thing

Today we will do a meme (via tag) or whatever it's called. Here are the rules:

1. Go to your documents
2. Go to your 6th file.
3. Go to your 6th picture.
4. Blog about it.
5. Tag 6 friends to do the same. (HA...skip this if you wish...I did)

Weeeeeee.....here we go......

This is Garrett on Christmas Eve at my mom's being.....well, being Garrett (silly) as he got Santa's cookies ready. He and Grandma had baked and decorated them and he was quite excited with how the turned out. I was forced to eat one or three and they were good. Santa loves him some cookies and Coke. Yes, I said Coke. Santa is usually tired of milk and just tired in general by the time he reaches us so we like to give him a sip of Coca-Cola for a nice change of pace as well as a caffeine boost. The funnier part was Garrett the next morning drinking the leftovers from Santa and us all picking on him about getting Santa cooties to which he did some weird George Bush impersonation as seen below...LOL!!

For Real Y'all!

Yes - even in times of crisis I turn to humor and photographs! I mean seriously - we can panic and cry, kick and cuss, or rant and rave but does it help? Does it change anything?

The answer is no. So instead we'll take it as it comes, do a lot of praying and maybe change some things. This could be good. For real. Right?
